As 2 of my three picks dropped final night, the final of which came in fashion, I couldnt regain my momentum.
The night got off to a nice beginning as Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning moved back-and-forth before the game had a shootout with the 2 clubs knotted at threes subsequent overtime. The Lighting got a Steven Stamkos target late while Andrei Vasilevskiy stood tall as we struck on the Lighting at odds.
The night went downhill from that point. After once again becoming the first objective of the match, the next few markers would be allowed by the Winnipeg Jets and went on to lose their third straight home game by a 3-1 count. The offense isnt clicking right now and it bit me on two of the past three nights.
As the total went thanks — you guessed it — an empty-netter, Eventually, my pick of the night between the Predators and Coyotes dropped. We sat with a push into the third period however a Carl Soderberg empty-netter sealed our destiny and gave us second night that was losing throughout the previous three.
It has been a week to this stage, but let us enter the weekend on a high note at Chicago Blackhawks in the United Center in Chicago and a matchup between the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Blue Jackets vs. Blackhawks NHL Choose
It is a meeting from the Windy City tonight because Jackets butt and also the Blackhawks heads in the United Center.
Columbus enters this one riding high after winning successive games across the Hurricanes and Stars, a much-needed mini win streak after dropping three of the first four matches of the year. John Tortorellas group has a lot to establish with reduced expectations after losing Artemi Panarin Sergei Bobrovsky, Matt Duchene along with Ryan Dzingel to free agency in the offseason. Of late, they have been much better.
Scoring targets remains an issue, however. The Blue Jackets enters this one yelling tied for 28th with just 2.33 goals per game over the season and if they have been better against a few weaker offenses within the previous few matches, theyve still allowed 3.33 goals per match on the rear end. Goaltending was a problem so far following GM Jarmo Kekalainen decided against upgrading the goaltending situation after Bobrovskys passing, instead handing the keys to Joonas Korpisalo. It seems the beginning of tonight will really go, while Korpisalo was much better of late.
Obviously, said start didnt go well. The Pittsburgh Penguins torched merzlikins great for an .825 Sv% within his NHL debut. While we dont know a lot about Merzlikins from an NHL standpoint, we do know that he put in some work in the Swiss-A league for a few seasons prior to taking his talents overseas. Merzlikins posted a solid .921 Svpercent in each of the past two seasons in Switzerlandhe found out that the NHL is a whole new ball game.
Merzlikins will be faced with keep what is a talented Chicago Blackhawks crime at bay within this one. They have hit their stride this year as they sit regardless of the usual spike in October scoring with a 3 goals per match, however keep in mind that this has been the leagues most eighth-ranked offense from a season ago. The quarter of Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat ought to get the Blackhawks back to the top 10 this year while Erik Gustafsson is the sudden one of the defensemen in the league out of an offensive standpoint.
On the rear end, the Blackhawks are decent whilst allowing 3.25 goals per match, a number that places them right in the center of the league. However, its been in their penalty kill thats hurt them the most as they rank 30th having an awful 61.5% mark on the PK, but for tonight the great news is the Blue Jackets power play has scuffled a tiny bit with a 16.7% roster, good for a share of 23rd alongside the Vancouver Canucks.
In four games played this year, the Blackhawks have allowed just six even-strength goals against. Their blueline was updated using the trade imports of Olli Maatta from Calvin p Haan and the Penguins from the offseason from a standpoint from the Hurricanes. The expectation is that the Blackhawks could be significantly improved from their 30th-ranked defense from a year past.
They updated their goaltending situation with Robin Lehner whos coming off a season with the New York Islanders in the offseason. Lehner has made just 1 start this season, but will really get start number two against those Jackets. Lehner allowed three goals on 33 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss. Lehner has ever been a very great goaltender throughout his NHL profession as he owns a .918 Svpercent for his career and has been at .920 or better in three of the previous four seasons. He was not enjoying for winning teams while with Buffalo Sabres and the Ottawa Senators. To me, theres very little doubt about who gets the goaltending advantage in this one.
All told, I am on the tonight. An season-opening three-game losing streak snapped using a rock-solid 3-1 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers, handing them their first loss of the season at the process. They outshot the Oilers 35-28 because individual as well. I like the looks of this crime and that I can not help but feel they have a huge chance tonight after being torched this season with no goaltender who cant be playing. I figure they can easily eclipse that mark awarded the situation tonight, although theyve scored three or more goals in every game this year.
The Blue Jackets are better recently, especially but protecting the Blackhawks at the United Center may be a difficult job and I believe the Blackhawks offense is prepared to split out. That wont be good news for Elvias Merzlikins and Co. as I am carrying the Blackhawks to win that one on the moneyline tonight.
