Wales winger Rabbi Matondo believes he make a significant impression from the Bundesliga such as his former Manchester City team-mate and could imitate Jadon Sancho.
Matondo followed England teenager Sancho, who has scored 16 goals in 55 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in swapping the Premier League for Germany once he combined Schalke in January within an # 11m move, since he moved in 2017.
Even the 19-year-old scored his very first Schalke goal at RB Leipzig month until he was invited into Ryan Giggs Wales squad for the European Qualifiers from Slovakia and Croatia.
It is only one goal and its just my very first beginning of the season, said Matondo.
But I can get many more minutes this season and bring about goals and aids and help the team climb the table.
When I could do and he (Sancho) has done so far then I will be really satisfied.
He is a great player. Since being Manchester City together with him just how good hell be and how great he can be Ive always understood that. Hopefully he can help me.
Jadon didnt make me move to Germany, but naturally hes doing this well there and if it came around I thoughtwhy not?
It wasnt that I couldnt find a pathway (in City), I believe in myself. At Manchester City it is tough – the players are players.
But it was more that I had the opportunity to go and play first-team football and at the time I did not have that at Manchester City.
Therefore I preferred to play first-team football, and so I took the opportunity.
Half a year younger than Sancho, matondo, never produced a appearance and just turned 19 last month.
The winger, who had been labelled the fastest player at City after beating the likes of Leroy Sane, Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling in speed tests, has only produced two starts for Schalke.
However he insists his profession is going in the perfect direction under the advice of Huddersfield head coach David Wagner.
Ive still got a lot to improve and understand but I am content with how things are going, said Matondo, that now includes three Wales caps prior to making his debut last November.
Hopefully therell be a lot more minutes for Schalke this season and hopefully thatll encourage me to play more for Wales.
When I was younger I always believed in myself. I always thought: youll be playing in a great level when you are 17, 18, 19.
That is what I am doing right now. We shall find (about the future), but I will give it my all.
