Wonderful Britain and Ireland will Proceed head-to-head with the United States this weekend Together with coverage.

Royal Liverpool hosts the tournament, the equal of the Ryder Cup, in which GB&I are bidding to regain the trophy after a 19-7 thrashing in Los Angeles two years’ .
With GB&I captain Craig Watson expecting his team can follow on from victories at Royal Lytham in 2015 and Royal Aberdeen in 2011, the home team has won each of the previous five versions of this biennial contest.
Bryson DeChambeau featured from the losing American side four years’ ago, with Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Paul Casey and Padraig Harrington one of the long list of notable names to have appeared in the Walker Cup during their amateur careers.
The occasion sees four foursomes matches played on both mornings before eight singles matches through the opening afternoon and 10 on the final afternoon, with a total of 26 points offered and a team needing to evaluate 13.5 for outright success.
This season’s 10-man GB&I group comprises the inaugural winner James Sugrue, the English Amateur champion Conor Gough and Alex Fitzpatrick – brother of Matt Fitzpatrick – while the American side contains Stewart Hagstead, who’s played in the previous three US Opens, and world No 1 amateur Cole Hammer.
Sky Sports will have protection of the contest, beginning with a preview show on Friday night with one-hour highlights for reports about the Sky Sports site and the two tournament days on Sky Sports Golf.
