Lions vs. Eagles: NFL Week 3 Picks & Game Predictions

Lions vs. Eagles: NFL Week 3 Picks & Game Predictions

As a Result of a rash of Accidents, the Philadelphia Eagles Seem like the Incorrect NFL pick for Sunday’s game against the visiting Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions (1-0-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) are undefeated during the first two matches of the regular season. That is very great, right? The Lions looked just like a poor staff coming to 2019, and as stated by the DVOA stats at Football Outsiders, they are what we believed that they were: No. 14 overall in efficiency.

That’s only four areas behind the Philadelphia Eagles (1-1 SU, 0-2 ATS), mind you. And with most of the injuries Philadelphia have endured, we are going to put the Lions within our NFL picks for Sunday’s matchup (1:00 p.m. ET, FOX). Too bad they are down from +8 in the open to +6.5 at press time, however. Timing is not everything.
If it hadn’t been for all those harms, this could have been among the lines around the Week 3 NFL chances board. Here’s what the projections need to state:

FiveThirtyEight: Philadelphia –6
Jeff Sagarin: Detroit –0.28, 44.88 complete
Wait, what? The figures at The USA Today of jeff Sagarin seem to be all over the map for this contest — for the most part, his projections like the Lions to win by a hair, although we are using his Rating here. That does speak to the issues Philadelphia has had on defense, issues we saw in last week’s 24-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons (+1 at home).
Things will likely get worse. DT Timmy Jernigan struck his foot from Atlanta DT Malik Jackson endured a injury and was lost for the year after. And the offense is in issue: whilst WR Alshon Jeffery and TE Dallas Goedert are iffy at best with crab breeds WR DeSean Jackson is out two weeks with an abdominal strain.
