David Gough felt no pressure while refereeing All-Ireland final

David Gough, who refereed the drawn says when officiating the biggest game of this year, he felt no pressure.
Much of the attention from the build-up to the match was on the collection of Meath native Gough, together with some pundits indicating as he’s situated in Dublin he should not have been appointed.
When 3:30pm September 1 came, he still felt no stress at all.
“It is actually any other match,” Gough told The Six O’Clock Show.
“I’d spent the week ahead with a sports psychologist who had prepared me for this instant. He just made it like any other match.
“[The GAA] have contributed referees access to sports psychologists in the last number of years. It is big for us that we’re in a position to proceed and visualise things in matches that will help us prepare for your sport. We do want this, and it is a excellent tool to have in our pockets.
“I simply couldn’t wait to get onto the pitch and then toss the ball up. Everything else just fades into the background. The sound in the arena, the capability that is entire, you do not notice anything. You’ve 70 to 80 minutes of concentration. You see numbers, colours, jerseys. You do not even recognise the players, so I did not feel any tension going whatsoever.”
The frequent consensus after the game was that he chose the perfect calls for the huge decisions, but Gough made it clear that he doesn’t pay attention to the opinions of anybody.
He noted:”I don’t listen to any of the analysis. I don’t wait back the match with any analysts’ remark. I see back the game myself, with my microphone played over it that is given to us by Croke Park. So I do not really get trapped in some of the comment.
“It’s really nice for me to have the ability to sit and see a match and concentrate on everything I did and everything I performed, how I spoke to the players and how they talked to me.”
The Conor Lane of cork will take control of the replay on Saturday.
