David Gough felt no pressure while refereeing All-Ireland final

David Gough, who refereed the drawn ” when officiating the biggest game of this year, he felt no tension.
A lot of the attention from the build-up into the match was about the assortment of Meath native Gough, with some pundits indicating he should not have been named as he’s based in Dublin.
But when 3:30pm on September 1 arrived, he still felt no tension.
“It’s actually another match,” Gough told The Six O’Clock Show.
“I had spent the week beforehand with a sports psychologist who’d prepared me for this instant. He made it.
“[The GAA] have given referees access to sports pros in the past few years. It is big for us that we’re ready to proceed and visualise items in matches that will help us prepare for your match. We really do need this, and it’s a terrific tool.
“I just couldn’t wait to get on the pitch and then throw up the ball. Everything else fades to the background then. The sound in the stadium, the capability, you do not detect anything. You have 70 to 80 minutes of attention. You see numbers, colours, jerseys. You don’t even recognise the gamers, so that I didn’t feel any anxiety going whatsoever.”
The common consensus after the game was so that he chose the choices are called for by the right, but Gough made it clear that he does not pay attention to the opinions of anybody.
He noted:”I do not hear some of this analysis. I really don’t watch back the match with any analysts’ remark. I watch back the game myself, with my mic played. So I don’t get trapped in some of the commentary.
“It is really nice for me to have the ability to sit down and watch a game and concentrate on everything I did and everything I performed, how I spoke to both players and the way they spoke to me.”
The Conor Lane of cork will take control of the replay on Saturday.
