Stuart Broad struck two as Australia reached at Old Trafford after electing to 34, and Steve Smith and Jofra Archer resumed their competition.

England – connected with Australia at 1-1 in the series after Ben Stokes’ heroics in Headingley 10 days – picked up a wicket from the fourth ball of the game, when Broad disregarded David Warner (0).
Warner snicked supporting attempting to leave as he dropped for the fifth time in seven innings to Broad that string; the batsman recording his next duck in a row along with his first time score of the Ashes.

Overton could have conducted Smith out in the non-striker’s ending had his boot towards the stumps after the straight push of Labuschagne but was a chunk change after the impact from the seamer’s shoe since Australia remained only two wickets down.
