Hugo Lloris says Tottenham are not built to win the Champions League, even though their run to the final season.
Spurs made the last two in their history but that they fell short at Madrid.
The challenge is to prove was not only a one time, but the Tottenham captain believes it’s a tough ask when they’re up against teams using more calibre within this competition.
“I believe with a great deal of humility there are some clubs that have the profile to win Champions League every season – historically and also all the talent they possess in the group,” Lloris explained.
“They place a stamp on this competition. That’s not the case for Tottenham.
“However, as we saw this past year, everything is possible when you’ve got the belief, the ability and the subject. Why not be?
“But obviously we’ve got a different profile to this sort of club – Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich. That type of club.
“It’s not a lack of vision. It is to win, whoever owns the opponent in front of us, As soon as we go to the pitch. We don’t wish to appear too far ahead”
Spurs’ squad remains full of talent and the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Jan Vertonghen are currently reaching the peak of their careers.
Lloris is hoping they all can play their part to help Spurs get over the line and win their first trophy since 2008.
“Now we’ve arrived in an age where we have got the expertise to have an effect towards the team,” he added.
“Hopefully we’ll go in precisely exactly the identical way.
“If you arrive in a level, the important issue is to do all to stay at precisely the exact identical level, particularly the level we arrived at this past calendar year, as the runner-up of the Champions League.
“It is not a coincidence. We are doing something well, we’re constructing something powerful.
